I'm looking for a small single axle trailer that will fit a classic Beetle. So, around 12ft.

Dude...  you do not want a single axle trailer...especially for a VW!  That sum bitch will be fish tail'n and sheet something awful.  With the motor in the back of the VW it's real bad.  Get a tandem axle trailer.  How do i know this...  been there, done that.

Thanks Ron, we talked on the phone semi recently. Yeah, I know the tongue weight deal when it comes to trailering a VW. Purpose built beetle haulers usually have the axle to the rear. I bit the bullet today and bought a  new 16x7 enclosed tandem axle.
